Beginning on September 9, NC started a weekly enrichment program titled Warrior Wednesday that meets between first and second period aimed to help remediate students struggling in their core classes and to enrich students with choice classes with a particular theme.

“I love it,” senior Rachel Hunt said. “It is very useful especially because I have a bunch of AP classes and color guard. I don’t have enough time to write college apps and essays. I also love all feedback I can get from my peers about my essays to make them better.”

Those who need remediation or additional help will have this added time to improve or understand the entire concept. Since many students come from out of the district or participate in extracurriculars, Warrior Wednesday allows time for tutoring within the school day.

“I am so grateful that we have Warrior Wednesday here at NC. It allows me to get additional help for classes I want to succeed in and it also gives the time that I may not have when I am not at school,” sophomore Nina Hursit said.

Warrior Wednesday not only helps students with their academics but also provides an environment in which students can take a breather and collaborate on education. Furthermore, it also helps those struggling in academic areas to better their GPA before college applications.

“It is nice to see that you are not the only one who is struggling in a core class because it makes you feel better about yourself,” sophomore Zayn El Farnawany said.

Warrior Wednesday will continue to take place until the end of December when students will choose a new class for second semester.
