The NC Warriors boys JV soccer team defeated the Hillgrove Hawks 2-1 on Thursday, March 2nd after a night of intense competition.

Ready for battle, the Warriors took the field with fury for the opposing team in their eyes. Within the first five minutes, freshman Carlos Uruena started off the scoring with a precise goal, injecting a confidence in the Warriors that carried through the rest of the game.

The first half left parents and friends in the stands on their feet. Anxious and ready for the second half, the team came together at halftime to discuss the first half’s triumphs and achievements.

“I’ve been really impressed,” JV Coach Justin Buckles said. “We have a lot of leadership and returning players that I had the opportunity to coach last year that have done a great job of fitting into their roles. They understand their role and I think being around me for a second year has really helped; I mean we are 5-0 so it can’t get any better than that.”

Within the restless last 30 minutes of the game, the Warriors scored another goal, leaving the Hillgrove Hawks under pressure. When the final buzzer sounded, the team congratulated each other on yet another victory. The men’s JV soccer team’s fifth straight win in an undefeated season left the crowd going wild.

The game against Hillgrove showed the season’s practices and conditioning improved the team’s stamina while building teamwork among the players.

“We’re doing great; we’re undefeated but I think we could just work on keeping the ball on the floor and passing a little bit better,” junior Justin Pumillo said.

Come out and support your JV Warriors Thursday, March 9 when the team takes on the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs at Emory Sewell Stadium.
