On their 13th year, the Kennesaw Farmer’s Market takes place every year between the months of May and September. Each Monday at the Kennesaw Depot Park from 3:30pm to 7:30pm, the market features seasonal vegetables, fruits, flowers, plants, herbs, soaps, house plants, beeswax, baked goods, and other local products. Vendors offer various food from different backgrounds, combining old and new family farming.

Terre Summey, John’s Produce stand owner, offers a range of ten to fifteen produce items, including; tomatoes, snap beans, yellow onions, peppers, potatoes, squash, and more. On her 7th year as a vendor for the Kennesaw Farmer’s Market, Summey sells produce farmed by her friends and family.

“My family has been in farming for two hundred years. I’ve been running the Kennesaw market for seven years, and my father ran it for ten years before I did. My friends and family farm, and I sell the produce at local farmers markets,” Summey said.

Vendors, such as Paul Hardy, Hardy Bakery owner, enjoys selling at the Kennesaw location because of the nice community. Hardy offers baked goods such as pastries, cakes, and pies. He also expanded his baked good business by offering catering to local events.

“I love the Kennesaw location. I have been working the Kennesaw Farmer’s Market for six to seven years. My business has been around for 27 years,” Hardy said.

Coming back each Monday, consumers can enjoy the fresh produce and tasty pastries that the Kennesaw Farmer’s Market offers.

“I have been buying food from this farmer’s market for almost two years. The food is always fresh and delicious. The vendors who have been there since I have been going always have a smile on their face and fresh food on their tables,” customer Martha Mayse said.
