NC’s boys varsity tennis team played and won against the Campbell Spartans 3-2 on Monday, March 5. After the matches, the team honored the seniors on the team, Christian Kulat, Chase Seufert, and manager Alex Jones. Seufert won his singles match 6-1, and Kulat played doubles with freshman swing player Grayson Hines, but the pair lost in a tough three set match.

While the matches occurred, the parents of the team members set up dinner on the upstairs patio in celebration for the seniors, which included a cake with each senior’s name piped on with decorative icing. Besides the celebratory food, the parents hung posters dedicated to each senior with baby pictures among photos taken throughout their high school career.

After their matches,, each senior shared memories about their high school experiences, especially regarding tennis. Each senior was gifted a bouquet of flowers and the poster made honoring them for senior night.

Seufert thanked his supportive family and friends and plans to attend Auburn University and major in finance when he graduates. Kulat also thanked his family and his friends and plans to attend Georgia State University after high school, later transferring to the University of Georgia to pursue a degree in computer science. Lastly, Jones thanked both his friends and family and will attend Kennesaw State University, then transfer over to Auburn University to major in civil engineering.

“It’s been such a surreal experience being able to form and strengthen so many friendships on and off the court and getting to play the sport I love at the same time. I’ve made lifelong friendships and learned so many lessons that’ll stick with me forever,” senior Chase Seufert said.
