Janett Rodriguez is a senior at North Cobb and decided to spend her last year exploring the world of journalism. She hopes to improve herself as both a writer and student as she spends her last year capturing the true highlights of her school and community. She believes every student has the ability to make an impact in their school and community and should be recognized for their achievements and leadership.

Janett is in the magnet program for international studies, as she has a passion for traveling and learning about different cultures. She is a member of clubs such as National Honor Society, Beta, HoPe, and Relay for Life. She believes it is important to be involved in your community and contribute to the best of your ability.

When she’s not studying, she spends her time playing soccer with her teammates and hanging out with the people she loves most, her friends and family. Her friends and family are the people who motivate her to become a better version of herself. She has a passion for shopping and could spend hours at the mall (You can also find her working at the nearest Marshalls!). She also enjoys spending her free time watching shows on Netflix, such as Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, and The Fosters.

She is thrilled to have the opportunity to write for The Chant and provide the inside scoop for her school and community!

Each year on February 14, friends, spouses and partners spend time together on this holiday by enjoying each other’s company. They gather together to celebrate the day of love, affection and friendship. This special day allows people to appreciate their significant others and express their love for them through chocolates, teddy bears and memorable date ideas.

In honor of the holiday season, chorus students Kayla Smith, Emma Henderson, Diana Agne, Kayla Anderson and Trinity Klock deck out in holiday-themed outfits and accessories. Going from door to door, they spread the holiday spirit as they perform Christmas songs in front of students and teachers.

Winners, Senior Rachel Charleston and Junior Kalana Garner, received the winning wristbands for Music Midtown this upcoming weekend. Garner bought two tickets and paid only $10 for the price of a $150 worth ticket. Garner’s winning ticket estimated 1,978 M&M’s, and she jokingly wrote “#Winner!” on the back of her ticket. To their surprise, their weekend will consist of live music of their favorite artists.
