Last Friday night, Coach Davis was inducted into the NC Hall of Fame for outstanding achievements in baseball.

A former baseball player at NC, Davis began his high school career as a member of the JV team. Through hard work and dedication, he obtained a Varsity position. He earned a baseball letter for two years and received various local and regional recognitions, including the Marietta Daily Journal Athlete of the Week, GA Dugout Club, and All-Region in 2004. Harvey Cochran served as Varsity baseball coach at the time.

“I actually found out that I was being inducted into the Hall of Fame at the same time as the rest of the school,” Davis commented. “I was watching the broadcast of Tomahawk Today and I was surprised when they announced I would be among the newest members.”

The NC Hall of Fame members are nominated by community members for outstanding effort during their high school careers. Many of the athletes competed on college and professional teams after completing their high school careers. Davis joins numerous athletes inducted annually, beginning in 2006. He stands alongside Eric Norwood, Sheri Circle-Parker, and Skipp Shipp in the most recent class of 2015.

“Becoming a member of the Hall of Fame is really special to me,” he explained. “There are so many amazing athletes that are apart of it and it is a true honor to have something in common with them.”.

Davis invited his parents, brother, sister-in-law, wife, and young daughter to attend the ceremony, taking place before the Varsity Warrior football team’s victory against the Hillgrove Hawks. Davis entered the field to accept his induction, accompanied by family and holding his baby daughter. Currently a teacher and varsity softball coach, Davis remains proud of his accomplishments and enjoys passing on his expertise to students at the school he once attended.
