A local supporter of NC and the Kennesaw community, Poblanos Mexican Grill sits at 3344 Cobb Pkwy N in Acworth, GA. The restaurant serves a wide-range of dishes, from burritos to carne asada.
The restaurant boasts the natural ambience of almost every Mexican food establishment. With dim lighting, soccer playing on the TVs, and Spanish music playing over the speakers, the restaurant gives off a natural and homey feeling.
We started off with complimentary chips and salsa and a small bowl of cheese dip, which we both enjoyed the most out of our selections. Prince tried the lunch supreme nachos for $6.50, while Shambaugh ordered the lunch special #2: comprised of two enchiladas and rice for the same price.
The nachos include cheese dip, refried beans, shredded chicken (or ground beef), lettuce, tomatoes, and sour cream. While Prince enjoyed the nachos, better options in the area exist. The cheese dip made the nachos stellar, but the rest lacked in flavor.
The beef enchiladas fell into the same category. The enchiladas themselves tasted delicious, but the red sauce spread on top made the dish taste sour and out-of-place. The Mexican rice accompanying the dish, though, impressed with spices and a healthy portion.
For a restaurant promoting Mexican food at a cheap price, their fares skyrocketed past our expectations. Shambaugh felt her two enchiladas and a share of cheese dip cost too much. Prince originally wanted to try the lunch fajitas, but decided the $10 price did not appeal.
Located just a short trip from NC, Poblanos Mexican Grill provides a place to enjoy the taste of Mexican food despite the higher than ideal price. Visit their website at http://www.mypoblanosmexicangrill.com.
