The Chant

Isabella Keaton
Junior Isabella Keaton joined newspaper to explore the journalistic world and improve upon her creative writing skills. Born here in Kennesaw on October 30, Keaton is the middle child, with an older and younger brother. Throughout her childhood, Keaton dreamt of one day taking the stage and becoming a theatre actress. Keaton credits her favorite play, “Phantom of the Opera,” as what lead her to dream of one day stepping on the stage. Her dream has led her down many paths at school, and she has tackled numerous plays and productions in NC’s Drama department. Isabella joined drama her freshman year and performed in her first production, “The Diviners,” her sophomore year. Her favorite production that she has been a part of was titled, “That's Not How I Remember It,” which followed the story of a couple recalling how they met, in which she played the younger version of the woman in the relationship. Keaton is now a member on the drama board and has the honor of helping make major decisions that affect the program. She continues to build her resume in hopes of receiving an admission to the Savannah College of Art and Design or Syracuse University, where she plans to major in theatre acting. In her spare time, she loves hanging out with her friends, reading, and occasionally wake surfing on Lake Acworth. Her favorite novel is Tuesdays with Morrie because of the profound, but simple, life lessons that it teaches. This year in Newspaper, she wants to focus on reporting and building her writing skills, as well as branching out to try her hand at photography.
