The Chant

Shannon Rapp
Junior Shannon Rapp, entertainment editor to The Chant, is a returnee on staff this year. She joined Newspaper to only better her writing and photography skills but ended up with a family.

Shannon is a part of the NC Color Guard. After joining last year she fell in love and made a connection with the team that she has never found anywhere else.

Outside of school Shannon enjoys baking and makeup. Her passion for baking caused her to want to attend culinary school in New York after she graduates. She loves New York as it is where most of her family lives. Shannon has also traveled to Florida, Alabama, New Jersey, North Carolina, and South Carolina but she hopes to one day visit every continent but Antarctic as she hates the cold.

Her favorite show is Riverdale, which she binge watchs while eating peanut butter, her comfort food.

Shannon loves dogs and even has one dog of her own named Jack. Along with Jack she also live with mom and dad. She also has an older sister named Kayley who attends Berry as a junior, and although being polar opposites with shannon, they bond over their extreme love for Harry potter.

Throughout high school Shannon has learned to accept herself for who she is, and she highly recommends others do the same. She knows that their are others you can relate, it might just take a minute to find them.  Shannon believes she has found these people in guard with her best friends Keara, Ketzel, and Abbey.

I love Shannon. We met because of Colorguard and last season we were close but not like we are now. she's one of the most loyal people I've ever met and whenever I'm freaking out or have a problem I'll go to her. She's one of my closest friends this year and starting tomorrow we're gonna have disney music mornings on the drive to school. she's an unashamed Disney movie music lover. she’s so sweet and loving and I just love her so much,” senior Keara Rodriguez said.
