Currently a North Cobb senior, MC Toth joined The Chant just this year. With writing passion & hopes to pursue journalism, MC works as a reporter on our staff.

Living in Dallas her whole life, MC commutes to North Cobb for its International Studies magnet program. Within North Cobb, MC involves herself in: Heart to Heart, Magnet Advisory Council, Diversity Council, National Honors Society, and as an AP English Language, AP World History, and Honors Chemistry peer tutor.

Beyond classroom doors, MC’s hobbies include: thrifting, visiting art exhibits, exploring outdoors, attending concerts, and researching sociology as well as environmental science. MC enjoys conspiracy theories and the philosophical world, questioning human existence and our universe. As an extrovert, MC craves human interaction and loves spending time with her friends and family.

The Toth’s travel the world and so far have visited eleven countries: Costa Rica, Canada, Mexico, St. Maarten, The UK, France, The Bahamas, Belize, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. Meeting new people, trying new things, and viewing new cultures claim MC’s favorite traveling aspects. Along with an inquisitive mind, MC thrives as an adrenaline junkie and an “you only live once” attitude.

With her future, MC hopes to attend The University of Georgia as a journalism major and continue traveling the world, writing about her experiences.

Senior Magnet student Brianna Hewitt draped her Miss Georgia pageant sash across her torso for her senior ID photo. Hewitt began participating in the Miss Georgia pageant six years ago and fell in love with it after her first competition. “I love that [the pageant] is based off of community service, academics, and personality—rather than what you look like on the outside. I’m happy I get to represent the state,” Hewitt said.

Senior Magnet student and SkillsUSA member Reed Walker wrapped a Superman cape around his neck and held a SkillsUSA medal in his mouth for his senior ID photo. “I took part in Skills USA while in high school and it was a lot of fun. I wanted to show how my medal represented part of my high school experience, so I tried to dress goofy and fun,” Walker said.

Senior Corey Tran forgot about picture day, but could not miss out on his signature silly senior picture. Pulling out his wallet to substitute forgotten props, Tran saved his senior ID picture by splurging at the vending machine. Tran loaded up on crisps and crunchies, coddled them close, and smiled big for his picture. “We ended up spending like $20 on the vending machine snacks,” Tran said.

Senior Magnet student Ayesha Cheema decided to flash two slices of margherita pizza in her senior ID, which creatively summarized her senior year. The colorful toppings on the pieces of pizza made Cheema’s smile shine extra bright for her senior ID. Cheema works at Pizza Hut and claims to live off of pizza. “Pizza is basically my whole life,” Cheema said.

Senior cross country runner Brandon Ponder hung his favorite pair of Nikes around his neck for his senior ID photo. After running cross country all four years in high school, Ponder owns many pairs of kicks.

Yearbook staff members and seniors Ava Wonn and Julia Snyder dressed as matching minions for their bestie ID photos. Once the girls joined staff, they instantly clicked and started sharing memories and laughs throughout their years.“Two years ago, we started becoming friends because of yearbook, then we went to a convention over the summer where they gave us these minion glasses. We wore them to be funny for our senior pictures,” Wonn said.

Senior Da’Naija Holloman held up her phone and puckered out her lips, making a “sassy face” for her senior ID shot. “My mom inspired me to come up with the ‘mood’ look when she asked what I looked like at school. At school, I have my phone in my hand and I look mean, so I recreated that for my ID. I want people to remember my normal everyday look around school,” Holloman said.

Senior Maggie O’Bryan held her Haitian flag up for her ID picture. O’Bryan visited Hati four times this past year, completing mission work through her church. Next September, O’Bryan plans on strengthening her relationship with God on another nine month mission trip. “I’ll be going to Swaziland, Thailand, and Nicquaragua on mission work. Everywhere we go, we will be spreading Evangelism, teaching English, and helping Christian companies,” O’Bryan said.

Senior Joseph Raimo posed for his ID photo by pulling out a brick phone. Picture day slipped Raimo’s mind, but luckily his friend’s prop saved the day. “My friend brought a brick to school and held it like a baby [for his senior ID photo]. I wanted to be unique and hold the brick as a phone, so I asked my friend if I could use his brick to pose,” Raimo said.

Senior Rasheeda Hullum placed a single red Vans shoe on her head for her senior ID shot. Vans represent Hullum’s favorite type of shoe and red remains her favorite color. “It was kind of last minute, I wanted to do something weird but not too crazy that still represented me,” Hullum said.

Senior Claire Phillips memed it out for her senior ID. Phillips held up an iconic “that’s none of my business” sign and dressed as Kermit the frog. Beyond the giggles, Phillips’ meme also represented her trying to steer away from drama throughout her high school experience. “Focus on yourself, don’t be worried about other people—that’s none of your business,” Phillips said.

Music overcomes cultural and linguistic barriers, as it sounds the language of the heart and soul. As a universal language, music communicates and shares meaning beyond ordinary words. Through music, various cultures and ethnicities unite as the human race.

Rifles up, chests out, and eyes forward. Twirling their guns in the air and marching in unity, The Armed Exhibition Platoon surpassed previous Annual Military Inspections. Appearance and performance wise, North Cobb-Harrison’s JROTC captivated the crowd and started off their season in stellar fashion.
