Nia-Simone Sherwood, Media Editor

Nia-Simone Sherwood enjoyed news more than the average kid. When Nia found out there was a whole class dedicated to it she had to sign up right away. Nia-Simone was born on September 2, in Marietta, Georgia. The oldest of two children, Nia’s use to the required responsibility.

In the beginning, Sherwood didn’t always have the idea or dream of being a journalist. Her first career choice was to become a film and tv actress. Although Nia-Simone's career choice has changed, her interest and hobbies have not. Nia loves creating and performing, whether that is acting out a skit, to playing music, to writing. She enjoys it all. Nia-Simone is also working on furthering her journalistic skills by being apart of VoxAtl, a media platform based in Atlanta written by teens for teens. In the last year, she was part of their investigative team which explored mental health issues amongst teens.

Mock weddings at North Cobb continued as a tradition through 1996 allowing students to experience a glimpse of such an eventful day. Students and staff at the time seemed to enjoy the ceremony, but NC warriors today think otherwise. “A mock wedding would feel like im getting married to a friend or a classmate so although we’re in high school there is no real connection. A real wedding should be with someone who means the most to you, it’s a time meant to be spent with family and friends, most of all the person you love” junior Chris Maclellan said.

Students excitedly showed their Warrior spirit as they prepared for the basketball game against school rival Kennesaw Mountain. NC students cheered on the basketball players and showed their support for the upcoming game. Students also flaunted their own moves during TC’s Shoot your Shot activity, where hopeful romantics could aim for the basket in hopes of receiving a box of chocolates and a rose to give to their crush.
