NC warriors danced the night away on Saturday night at homecoming, ignoring the pouring rain outside the arena’s windows. The rain ruined multiple Warrior students’ plans to take Instagram pictures in places such as Historic Downtown Acworth and Kennesaw prior to the dance. Mother Nature forced students to use their creative problem-solving skills as they came up with unique places to take pictures before the dance. NC students’ cameras flashed everywhere from inside Target to underneath the Legacy Park gazebo as they tried to take pictures avoiding the rain.

Tuesday night, the Varsity Basketball boys played against the Cumberland Christian Patriots, marking their first NC home game in the new Arena. The team walked off the court with a well-earned win, ready for a successful upcoming season. “It was really fun to see the crowd in the new Arena. This renewed season should be fun, especially it being the opening year of the Arena, so I’m excited,” Sophomore and Varsity Player, Tyler Gorsuch said.

The crowd of more than 2,500 students watch in anticipation as the speakers try to fire up the crowd, leading into the prominent entrance of the football team. The cheerleaders pause their dancing to place a central focus on the team’s entrance, serving as a solid start and promotion to the year’s football season. The Arena lights eventually dimmed, and a variety of students across the space lit up their cell-phone LED lights, waving them in the air in support of the football players about to race through a large banner.

Principal Matthew Moody and Assistant Principal and Athletic Director Matthew Williams celebrated the opening of the new Arena and Performing Arts Center with the historic ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, July 31. The administrative staff, faculty, and student body thanked the EverGreen construction team and the community leaders by providing refreshments and cake after the ceremony.
