Although they surely bring different qualities to the table, both wish to interact with students, as well as positively impact their lives.

Assistant Principal Alexia Bultman sits in her office in the 600 hall, examining documents from administration. Bultman took the position of Assistant Principal at the start of this semester, already making her mark on campus by implementing the new school dress code. Unknown to most students, Bultman actually attended NC as a teen graduating among the class of 2000; during her time, she gained notoriety for her dedication to the Lady Warriors softball team, playing the sport all four years.

After leading the NC Magnet program for the past 12 years, Assistant Principal David Stephenson prepares to say farewell to his home away from home. “I will miss the people: teachers, staff, parents, and the kids who often come back to check in and share their successes,” Stephenson said. No doubt his new home at Woodland High School will welcome him with open arms.

NC administrators must show positive traits and leadership in order to represent the school and build needed relationships with students . Hanging as a reminder, this sign stands in the hallway in the center of school leading from malfunction to the cafeteria so that everyone sees the traits expected from a warrior. “For me its fun, this is my chosen profession, I like kids, I like the energy, I like to have fun, and if were having fun were probably doing better,” NC’s principal Bucky Horton said.

Escorting his student Cadet Lt. j.g. Lien Nguyen, Commander Joel Reaves USN (ret.) shakes Assistant Principal Joseph Horton’s hand in celebration of her success in ROTC program. “Unfortunately, her parents could not make it to the presentation. When she asked me to escort her in the place of her parents, I was completely honored. Before I said yes, I wanted to make sure it was okay with them first. She has been a part of the program for four years and I was certainly happy to escort her. She makes me proud.”
