Prior to the boys’ game, the NC basketball program held senior night in the Arena. Supporters from the girls’ (12-11) and boys’ (16-6) teams attended to cheer the Warriors for their athletic contributions. With two seniors on the girls team, six seniors on the boys team and six managers, all gained recognition for their dedication to the NC basketball program.

The NC Lady Warriors’ varsity basketball team (5-5) took on Harrison’s Hoyas (2-6) November 10 at home in the Arena. With a packed student section and coming off of a win against the South Paulding Spartans (0-7), the girls played confidently. Unfortunately, minor mistakes led the Warriors to slip up and the Hoyas ended up winning in a tight and well-played game with a final score of 33-40.

NC’s varsity Lady Warriors basketball team (2-1) joined forces to face the Denmark Danes (2-1). Teamwork and agility ran through the Lady Warriors blood as they defeated the Danes by a large gap of 29 points. The Lady Warriors continue to maintain high spirits and develop their strengths individually and as a group. The trust built with each other, the chemistry between the team members and individual constructive criticism keeps the team alive as the season progresses.

After eight years of renovating its facilities, NC hosted its first home track meet on March 25. The JV track and field team dedicated themselves to their meet and placed in several events. Overall the girls placed second to Campbell High School and the boys placed first altogether. The Warriors look forward to the rest of their season and hope to host future meets.
