With the foundation of skills gained in that class, students hoping to take Ceramics prepare to tackle any artistic challenge in their path.

New to NC, Honors Chemistry teacher Rebecca Gregory prepares her students for a lab— her favorite classroom activity. The lab will show her students how to determine if an element has an ionic bond or covalent bond, which students often find difficult to understand.

With the thought of next school year coming to students minds, elective registration sends students to the media center today during first, second, and fourth period classes. They can choose from visual art classes to a variety of CTAE pathway classes. Students continue with attending homeroom this week for their passes for their assigned time to register.

Magnet sophomore practice presentations, one of the key components of AP Seminar. The bundle prepares the students for their junior year and obtain more AP credits to benefit their GPAs. “[This is] a true collaborative bundle,” Mrs. Theaker said. “It is hopefully going to provide a really wonderful sort of basis for writing and research going forward for these Magnet students.”

Patrick and Hughey prepare oatmeal using steel cut oats and items found in the classroom. Creating a decent dish requires a lot of forethought in the class and during competition. Regularly, students must create dishes from new and interesting ingredients, making them work even harder for amazing results. “[Anijah] and her partner had to formulate a plan and formulate a dish, and turned it into a Mexican street taco dish,” Hughey said.
