Seniors Skye Farmer and Makyha “Keys” Guy performed their dancing/singing duet to Jealous by Labrinth. While Farmer danced around the stage, Guy sang with her amazing voice. The two dominated the stage as they told the sad story of a couple breaking up through the song.

NC’s newly built performing arts facility serves as a home to the Fine Arts department’s showcases, and serves as an integral resource for the Drama department’s shows, rehearsals, and club exercises. NC’s new performing arts center plans to make its debut with the first shows of the fall season, including Orchestra’s fall concert and Drama’s Junie B. Jones performance.

This week, drama club members will sell advanced tickets to their play, Hands on a Hard Body. The play details how ten Texans, competing to win a truck by keeping their hands on it for as long as possible, share their lives with competitors through song and dance. The musical runs from October 24 to 26, at seven oclock each day. Advanced tickets are priced at eight dollars, and will increase to ten dollars at the door.

Junior Chloe Vernex-Loset, senior Jordan Hicks, and sophomore Deandre Mallory all hold signs to bring in more cars. With each car costing $5 and each truck/van costing $10, students washed over 50 vehicles. In total, Drama Club raised $515.

Senior and Drama Club president Jordan Hicks prepares students for what their real audition will be like. “The enthusiasm in students is so amazing this year, I can’t wait for them to nail their auditions,” Hicks said.
