Redtop Mountain State Park, pictured in the photo, borders Lake Allatoona. Leading to both a lake and the top of a mountain, travelers can stay and enjoy the hikes in the recently built cabins. “Redtop is a really nice local spot to go hiking and camping. There’s a lot of wildlife which is really cool and they have lots of different trails. The lake is pretty to look at especially during the summer because people like to go down to kayak or canoe,” freshman Josephine Green said.

Earth’s natural landscapes provide immense hiking trails all over the world for explorers of all ages. The state of Georgia in specific hosts a multitude of national parks and forests for hikers to defeat. As the COVID-19 pandemic attacked the world, residents in Georgia attended these parks to relieve built-up anxiety and stress.

Autumn comes as a relief from the South’s burning summers and an opportunity to enjoy clothes and activities that would otherwise pose the risk of heatstroke. “I’ve been spending my fall [by] spending much more time with my family ever since quarantine started. I want to celebrate the season by fashionably changing my attire and cherishing the cooling weather because it’s not burning hot anymore,” junior Lena Chanthasalo said.
