After receiving the incredible opportunity to bake her aunt’s wedding cake, Minard grew her business and added wedding cakes to her list of resume. “My biggest order so far was my Aunt’s wedding cake. It was three tiers and two different flavors. I baked the cake layers a day before the wedding, then assembled and iced the whole cake the morning of the wedding,” said Minard.

The Lady Warriors hold high hopes for their next regional game Tuesday, October 6 at 6 pm against the Walton Lady Raiders. “As for the next game, I believe we will win. Last game we won 9-7 and it was a good, competitive game. Our defense was solid and hitting on point. If anything happens I think it will be a positive direction to score first and ride it out ‘til the end for the win! Us girls just need to have confidence in ourselves and as a team,” senior Kendall Minard said.

NC Lady Warriors Fall to Mustangs in a Double Header

Like a photo captured straight out of a coming-of-age film, the NC Varsity Softball team pictured prepared to spread love on their Senior Night. Underclassmen walked onto the field, hands filled with goodie baskets and posters they made to give to each of the seniors during their ceremony. The girls went on to win their game, the final score a (9-7).

The NC Lady Warrior softball team huddle around 3rd base and pray before and after each game, followed by a chant to lift their spirits. “Praying and just talking to each other before each game gets us excited to go play. It kinda relieves some of the pressure we’re under,” junior Mackenzie Ogburn said.
