Child trafficking. Those two words alone may ring a bell to a bulk of the population, but the severity of those words tends to miss several listeners. The outrageous reality of child trafficking causes millions of adolescents and teenagers to disappear, leaving their loved ones to pick up the pieces.

Discourse develops online as members of the LGBTQ+ community discuss the problem with celebrities and online influencers ridiculing the word “lesbian.” As arguments continue on social media sites, lesbians discuss stigmatizing the L word, a term designated for specifically non-male attraction. Numerous lesbians express how they feel upset and confused by the spark of hate toward their label. “I honestly never saw it [the word lesbian] in a negative light; I just see it as a way to describe myself. People bring power to words,” sophomore Tess Farrell said.

Fans all around the world loved Alice Oseman’s writing and they praised her assistance with the series. One of the main contributions to the live-action adaptation became the soundtrack featured within the show. Tracks from artists like Orla Gartland, Baby Queen, and Girl in Red featured in the hit series, skyrocketing the artists careers much further. They all now keep their own expanded loyal fan bases because of the attraction the series pertained.

A fake and non-supportive friend to someone in any community may poorly impact many for a while. If one fakes support for a community, it causes a ripple effect once the supposed support comes out. Faking support leads people to rethink the qualities of a person and potentially lead to mistrust.

Multiracial, multicultural and gender varying families begin to normalize within society. As LGBTQIA+ couples begin to build families, adoption can serve as a viable option. However, several adoption agencies use a foundation of religion to discriminate against these couples. Legislators now work to pass legislation banning this discrimination to allow LGBTQIA+ couples to successfully build their families.

Caption: Schools all over the United States teach abstinence from sex and drugs. While abstinence seems the ideal way to keep students safe, no educator can guarantee that teenagers will stay true to their pledges. In order to remain proactive and well-equipped, schools should consider providing students with the honest medical information they need to protect themselves in the event that they deny abstinence. Otherwise, student will never acquire real safety tips surrounding sex and drugs.
