NC varsity lacrosse team will play their first game of the spring season against Pebblebrook at 6:30 p.m. tonight, February 12. For the game tonight, senior Zach Hall hopes to score four goals. “I am really excited to hopefully win our first official game after defeating the Wheeler Wildcats at our scrimmage,” sophomore Jonah McKouen said.

With a new season comes new gear. Starting off the season with new chrome orange helmets, the boys varsity lacrosse team eagerly awaits their first game. Head Coach John Almy hopes that the seniors will take the reins and lead the team to several victories. “I just hope to see growth from last year and see the senior class take the step up and be leaders,” Coach Almy said. The Warriors will play their first game against Wheeler on Wednesday, February 6.

The Warrior’s basketball team will take on the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs, a long-time rival, tonight January 15. Along with the competitiveness of tonight’s game, Relay For Life set the theme as “Pink Out” and will collect donations to fight against cancer. “I am excited to see how the game turns out since Kennesaw Mountain is such a huge rival to NC. I cannot wait to see everyone decked out in pink,” sophomore Drew Dodd said.

The cheerleaders circle up one more time before they take the mat at the Carrollton Classic competition on October 13. Last “good lucks” and cheers of encouragement pass around the circle to pump the girls up. “All the girls are super supportive and we are all really close, so when we circle up before we perform it makes the team ready to perform,” sophomore Macey Lawrence said.
