The Allen Premium Outlets of northern Dallas, Texas, received a horrifying scene May 6, 2023, from gunman Mauricio Garcia, leading to a deadly shooting that resulted in numerous casualties, including young children and elders. In quick response, law enforcement took on the case, finding evidence of white supremacist values from the shooter.

Andrew Tate gained his platform by speaking on extreme right-wing political views, especially on women’s roles. His content tended to target young men, causing them to change their thoughts on women, particularly in a negative view. The mix of teen and adult males idolize Tate and follow his advice regularly, continuing to underestimate and discriminate against women. However, several supporters of Tate seemingly vanished as a result of his arrest for human trafficking in late December.

Along with accounts like “Big Brother Daily” that posted live-feed quotes and competition updates, numerous fans offered their opinions on what transpired in the house. Longtime fans of the show utilized the platform to highlight and call out the misogyny and racism targeted at Taylor Hale and other houseguests of color, from Daniel Durston to Kyle Capener.

As cancel culture has permeated the internet, users have noticed how the culture creates hostile conditions for discussing issues. While cancel culture does not maintain a monopoly on promoting disrespectful internet arguments, it exacerbates the issue. “[Cancel culture is] not even giving a healthy ground for a debate or a negotiation. Its just saying, My way is right. I dont care what you say. I dont care what you think. I dont care what you believe. Im not taking any of what youre doing into consideration. Its all self-centered,” art teacher Karrie Arana said.
