Advertisements for the local Warrior Way 5K line the hallways of NC. The race, which funds the NC Cross Country team, will take place on September 19th at the school. Head Coach Sarah Bowling reflects on the event, “I love our Warrior Way because all of the students get very involved. They run the race alongside our community members and do so much volunteering for the event. It’s a great way to take our school into the community and have that community atmosphere.”

Senior Devon DeLaMater signs up for one of the various colleges visiting in the next few weeks at NC. Upcoming dates include Scripps College at 8:30 am and Pace Academy at 2:15 pm on August 31st. “I think it’s a really good opportunity to discover colleges without missing a lot of school,” said DeLaMater. “A lot of people can benefit from this type of system.”

Sophomore Chris Deters completes pullups at a Marine promotion in the cafeteria. The Marines present had set up a raised bar for students to perorm bar excerises for certain prizes. The rewards include a Marines car sticker, a Marines poster, a keychain, and a water bottle. For completing 21 pullups, Deters was awarded a water bottle proclaiming, “Pain is weakness leaving the body.”
