The Chant
Established in 1930, the Divine Nine features nine historically Black Greek Life Organizations (BGLOs) unified to promote community building for young Black adults in college. In the early 20th century, these groups served as a retreat for Black scholars facing the peak of segregation. Black Americans can now join BGLOs in colleges across America, even at predominantly white institutions (PWIs).
