NC Marching Band members prepare for the annual Cobb Exhibition happening later tonight. Junior Vicki Zitsch studies the schedule, as she mentally plans out how to finish all her homework before arriving to the event.
“Cobb Exhibition is really cool. They split it into two days where half of the marching band performs on the first day, and the other half performs on the second day. You get to go and watch other school’s marching bands perform, and then we’re going to perform our own marching band show in front of judges who give us feedback on how we can improve,” Zitsch says.

From yellow posters to gold T-shirts, students showed their support for Rally Club, an organization that raises awareness for childhood cancer. “Rally is a club that donates money to not only raise awareness for childhood cancer, but also to raise money for the research,” senior Brittany Aguilar said. In the past, the club gradually declined, until recently when senior Cierra Walsh brought it back to life. As a foundation, Rally hopes to promote awareness for childhood cancer through fundraisers and overall support of the community, and through their determination, members will keep the club alive and prospering.

The NC Magnet students, namely juniors and seniors, participated in a flash mob this morning in the courtyard before homeroom. Dancing to Shawn Mendes’ hit song “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back,” the flash mobbers brought out their best dance moves for Tomahawk Today, who filmed the carefully choreographed event. Hosted by Mrs. Husband and set up by seniors Zion Fitch and Emily LaPierre, the event took place to cheer up senior Brianna Hewitt, who just received a lung transplant.
