Wholesome fun at Whole Foods
October 26, 2017
After much anticipation, the Whole Foods Market opened a new store in Kennesaw on Friday, October 6 at 1300 Ernest Barrett Parkway. This store incited the relocation of Whole Foods Market’s Cobb Harry’s store location in Marietta, which closed on October 5.
On the opening day, workers greeted the shoppers with an array of product demonstrations and samples, and the first 500 customers received free gifts cards ranging in amounts from $5 to $50, with one $500 card to a special recipient.
“Wish I could’ve gotten a gift card, I was too late for the opening,” senior Sarah Lamb said.
Whole Foods remains an important element within the Kennesaw community; every item sold in the store meets the Whole Foods Market’s rigorous quality standards. These food items lack in artificial flavors, colors, sweeteners, preservatives and hydrogenated fats.
Due to the high popularity of the new store, Whole Foods will host numerous events throughout the following weeks.
On Thursday, October 26, Whole Foods will host an event called “The Best Darn Sandwich Pop-Up.” During this event, customers can stop by the Prepared Foods department every upcoming Thursday from 11am-1pm for speciality sandwiches. In addition, they will feature a new sandwich every week.
Wednesday, November 1, live music will play in the cafe and host a $3 pint night for those over the age of 21. However, only persons 18 and over can participate in these activities.
“They’re going to be serving alcohol, but I turn 18 in a couple of weeks so I hope they keep it going so I can at least enjoy the music,” senior Jason Ponce said.
To top off the week, on October 31st, Whole Foods will allow Halloween Trick or Treating throughout the store.
“This is a great event to bring the whole community together. I’m probably gonna bring my little sister,” senior Kacie Chaves said.

Whole Foods, more like expensive and less fun Trader Joes.
My saltiness aside, this is a great example of well-written news that gets all of the information across.
Keep up the good work!
