AP seminar and honors lit teacher, Mrs. Jenna Essenburg saw a need for extra support in the language arts department and acted on it by introducing NC’s Writing Center. “I felt like in most of the other content areas at North Cobb there is some sort of tutoring that is available. In the English department, this was something that we were missing,” said head of NC’s writing center, Essenburg. The writing center, Essenburg’s solution to this problem, offers computer access and opportunities for students to receive help from peers and teachers with editing, proofreading, and even college applications. Located in lab 706, NC’s Writing Center, open every morning from 7:45-815 am and every afternoon from 3:35-4:30 pm, allows students to improve their writing skills and earn community service hours as they work in the lab.
