The program Teens in the Driver’s Seat spreads driver safety and awareness in the cafeteria today. Students come up and answer a question about safety for a chance to spin the wheel and earn prizes such as t-shirts, bracelets, rings, and bumper stickers. The program aims to keep teen drivers aware of the dangers of the road while educating them on how to drive cautiously.

NC Warrior tennis team travels to Campbell highschool tonight to take on the Spartans. After a tough loss before winter break, the team eagerly awaits to face off against their opponents hoping to bring home a win. “I cant wait to play tonight, I love playing alongside my teammates and learning from them,” sophomore Lorenzo Alcaron said.

Anxiety among children, & those of high school age specifically, has become a major epidemic in recent years. According to a February 2019 Pew study, 70% of American teenagers consider it (along with depression) a major problem in their communities, an issue compounded among higher achievers. To remedy this, the school district will be showing a short film titled Angst this Wednesday night from 6 to 8 p.m; afterwards, a panel will take place to further educate attendees on mental health. NC students suffered the loss of junior, Andre Cordero, February 7, due to a car accident. Close friends to Andre created a box to place in the cafeteria for the student body and staff to write notes and condolences toward Andre’s family. The community bonds together, helping one another through this difficult time to honor Andre.

NC thespians eagerly await to embark on an adventure where they will indulge themselves in the world of theatrics this weekend at Thescon. With departure scheduled for 7:30 on Thursday morning, students begin packing their bags and check items off of their to do lists as they prepare to travel to Columbus, Georgia among 5,000 other Georgia thespians. “Im excited for thescon because I get to learn about theater related subjects from professionals. Its also fun to meet fellow thespians and it is a nice get away from the stress of academics,”  junior Ginette Samu said.
