In this short documentary, junior journalist Ivan Mendoza interviewed a plethora of Hispanic immigrants about their experiences in America. As they share their harrowing stories of how they crossed the U.S.-Mexico border to their uplifting reasons why they came to this country, they also open up about their constant battles with deportation and stereotypes. In an effort to humanize these immigrants, Mendoza recontextualizes the definition of an American and provides a voice for America’s unheard voices.
