Recently inspired to learn new recipes, Media Team contributor Citlalli Vela takes on a new challenge. Tasked to create the perfect strawberry cheesecake, she films a tutorial to inspire young bakers. Afterward, she brings the cheesecake to the NC Pub Office for a taste test. Follow her journey in this new episode of “Baking with Citlalli.”

Citlalli Vela, Media Team
Citlalli Vela, a magnet senior, joined The Chant’s Media Team to pursue her artistry. As a little kid, she used drawing to portray her emotions and the current fandoms she obsessed over. Today, she designs logos for organizations around NC such as NC Rally, magnet, and the website Github. After school, Vela spins with the NC Color Guard and is President of the Greenhouse Gang. She enjoys horror movies, scrapbooking, music, shopping, and mindlessly scrolling the Internet. This year, she aims to expand her art skills, improve her photography, and experiment with new mediums, all while having a fantastic first year on The Chant.

Dominic McSpadden, Media Team
Dominic McSpadden is a junior at NC and decided to apply for his first year on The Chant in search of new experiences. McSpadden has always had a love for art, cartoons and animation. He is excited to meet new people and create more art that he can love dearly. In his free time he likes to ice skate, binge shows and click buttons on his laptop. McSpadden also has a passion for teaching and psychology. He loves spending time with kids and wants to someday work with children and inspire them. He is totally jazzed to be a part of the Media Team and The Chant’s wonderful staff.
