NC revived their athletic pass for the 2015-2016 school year, allowing students free entry to all home games, regardless of sport.

Despite the $400 value, NC students are only charged $50 for it. “We trying to give students a good deal,” athletic director Jared Noblet said, the driving force behind the athletic pass reboot.

The form needed to purchase an athletic pass can be found in the hallway leading to the cafeteria, or in the front office.

Holders can enter through the gate adjacent the ticket booth, show their pass, and walk in. They avoid the wait that others without it endure. Jake Byrd, a senior who received his pass last week, said, “Maybe when they see me go through the other gate and skip the wait they’ll decide to get one.”

Why bring them back now? NC last sold passes in 2008, meaning no current student has ever held this advantage. Noblet said, “We are trying to encourage students to come to more home games for every sport. Kids and parents were interested, so we decided to give it a try.”

However, this offer is limited. “We’ve already sold about half of the passes we have, and we only have 100 of them,” clerk Julie Merendino said. Sports fanatics need to take advantage of this opportunity while it lasts, or they must wait until next year to snag one. Forms to buy a pass can be found in the hallway leading to the cafeteria or in Admin One.
