This week held a myriad of important events and before anyone could blink, the Twitter world climbed on top of the news and began ranting, venting, or simply blabbering about whatever happened.

Unfortunately, a beloved Academy Award winner and role model for many Americans, Robin Williams, took his own life in his home in Tiburon, California. Williams starred in movies such as Dead Poets Society, Jumanji, Good Will Hunting, and Good Morning Vietnam.

“Waking up and hearing that Robin Williams killed himself really broke my heart. I grew up watching his movies and loved him no matter what character he played. Jumanji was always my favorite because he showed how important teamwork is to get over a lot of problems. It’s just so unfortunate that someone so great suffered from something so horrific like depression. He’ll definitely be missed by a ton of people,” senior Rachael Giles said.

Tweets in memory of Williams flooded user’s timelines with inspirational quotes, pictures, and movie titles the actor blessed with his talent. Posts saying things like, “You must strive to find your own voice because the longer you wait to begin, the less likely you are to find it at all,” one of this most famous quotes from a fan favorite film Dead Poets Society, became omnipresent.

“Robin Williams starred in so many movies when I was growing up. Dead Poets Society taught me it’s okay to go out of your comfort zone to do things. Plus, he took part in a lot of charity work with sick children and you can’t get nicer than that. His actions were really heartwarming,” sophomore Tyler Clark said.

Pictures of Williams varied from comedy to pity. Visuals of various characters Williams played to perfection featured in a memorial type collage. Major scenes from award-winning movies pasted together into one beautiful mix of moments took Twitter by storm.
