Today, seniors at NC showed their fellow classmates what they hope to become in the future. Students dressed up as different career choices, including teachers, nurses, or even explorers and farmers. Senior Julia Snyder plans on attending Oglethorpe University in the fall to pursue a teaching degree. “I really love kids, and Oglethorpe recently added a teaching program to their school,” Snyder said.

Shrek’s hut, used for the NC Theatre Department’s upcoming performance of Shrek The Musical, lays in the back of the stage. As the main set for the play, the majority of the student performers will play out their roles around this locale. First performed in 2008, seven years after the animated movie released, Shrek The Musical retells the events of the film (and the 1990 book it adapts), but with additional backstory for Shrek and Fiona. The NC production will essentially serve as a retelling of the original, with no notable difference.

From the classroom to the field, the Lady Warriors lacrosse team will celebrate their seniors tonight at their game against Wheeler High School. “The seniors have lead us all very well, they each have a unique style for leadership but know how to revive both teams before all of our games. They pump us up and encourage us to do our best,” sophomore Molly Geraci said. The NC girls lacrosse team will celebrate each senior during their ceremony before their game tonight.

Yesterday, the world lost an important piece of the past to a fire that engulfed the Notre Dame in France, taking with it centuries of history. “I was so sad that my own son won’t be able to go and see it in the exact way that I was able to experience it. There’s just so much history in terms of architecture that has been lost. It’s just devastating to think about the fact that none of that can ever be reproduced exactly as it was,” AP Seminar teacher Mrs. Essenburg said. Tourists flooded social media to share their experiences with the infamous cathedral.
