Fire Stone’s opening brought in family, friends, and all of the people supporting the owners and their accomplishments. Although this would seem to be a stressful time for the owners, they were full of excitement and joy to bring people into this other world of asian food and culture. “ The opening was very successful, very good,” owner Wei Wei said.

The opening of a new restaurant with a Peter Chang affiliated chef, Fire Stone, completes the array of Asian foods in the shopping center just off of Ernest Barrett Parkway. Fire Stone opened September 10, 2018 , already attracting a large set of customers from the Legacy Park promotion. The mysterious Peter Chang opens a restaurant somewhere in the United States, then disappears for a while, reappearing in another city halfway across the country opening a new restaurant. Fire Stone, although not directly started by Peter Chang, took inspiration from him. The restaurant’s atmosphere definitely brings the Asian feel, with statues and decorative pieces surrounding the inside of the restaurant as well as a fully-stocked bar for adults. The owners Wei Wei and Huang both express passion in their field and about the sharing the essence of szechuan food with the Kennesaw area.

“I was a tennis instructor but I have always loved the food and have been passionate about the food (szechuan) and so building the place, setting up the business is definitely not an easy thing but I am up for the challenge, and I have learned so much from the project,” owner Wei Wei said.

The Dan-Dan noodles, a traditional appetizer, exceeded the taste and flavor of many customers expectations. The cilantro fish roles also brought an almost overwhelming explosion of different tastes and flavors to the mouth, an appetizer sure to ‘woo’ any szechuan lover.

Fire Stone offers a variety of different entrees serving a niche set of szechuan lovers such as: spicy flounder fish, golden mountain chicken, shredded pork with bamboo shoots and dry tofu, and a simple steamed lo mein with mixed vegetables for kids.

The spicy flounder fish included stir-fried flounder with leeks, black beans, snow peas, red pepper, and Szechuan chili oil, all which induces a spicy-numbing taste for the consumer.

This hot and numbing combination will relieve all your fall-time allergies, and give you a new and overwhelming taste that, if you have never experienced this food before, will light your senses on fire.

The golden mountain chicken encompasses original deep fried shredded chicken or beef, stir-fried with carrots and scallions in special sweet and sour sauce topped with sesame. This dish, a sesame chicken like meal with more flavor, encapsulates a better, less oily taste than most.

The golden mountain chicken encompasses an amazing flavor and exciting aroma, providing the customer with a new look on how sesame chicken should taste.

The  shredded pork with bamboo shoots and dry tofu contains stir fried shredded pork with smoked tofu and bamboo shoots, with the tofu out-flavoring the pork in tang and texture, together making a delicious meal with an exceptional amount of flavor and an excellent palette.

The steamed lo mein and mixed vegetables, the perfect kids meal, served on a kung-fu-panda like statue, encompassed an excellent taste bland enough for a kid, yet still flavorful and healthy.

Madeline Powers
Although the food definitely outplayed my expectations, the visual appearances of the dishes added an aroma that proves the theory of visual capture. The panda added an excitement to the table, and gave a kid-friendly aspect to the food.

Overall the new, kid-friendly, Fire Stone restaurant, provided an excellent meal served elegantly with decorated statues and creative platemanship with an enticing atmosphere. The service provided went beyond the customers’ expectations, providing a great start to a hopefully successful restaurant.
