Best duo Halloween costumes

Canva and the Warner Bros
Two always works better than one, especially for Halloween costumes. Inspired by iconic shows and movies, these duo Halloween costumes will make any pair stand out in a crowd of trick-or-treaters. These costumes allow people to capture memorable moments with a close friend, family member or significant other.

As Halloween approaches, people from around the world begin to formulate ideas about what they will wear for the spookiest night of the year. Furthermore, fans of the holiday find interest in extenuating their outfits by seeking out a plus one to compliment them. As people search for exciting and notable costumes, duo Halloween costume ideas for both couples and friends arise.

“I think duo costumes are so cute and they will make two friends stand out in a crowd. I feel like the costumes unleash two people’s creativity. If I were to participate in Halloween this year, I would prefer to do a duo costume rather than a solo one,” magnet senior Bella Warren said.

Coraline and Wybie

In the cherished 2009 fantasy horror film stop motion, “Coraline”, the titular character and her neighbor Wybie Lovat venture around the mountains near the Pink Palace. Their relationship initially starts off rocky, and Coraline views Wybie as an annoying pest. However, as the movie progresses, Caroline warms up to Wybie and realizes he cares about her. This outfit originates from the two’s first interaction when Coraline greets him in her iconic yellow raincoat and Wybie appears in a silver-striped black trench coat. The iconic costume serves as the perfect girl and boy duo from any couple or pair of friends.

Dijonay Jones and Penny Proud

From the iconic early 2000s show, “Proud Family”, Dijonay Jones and Penny Proud serve as compatible best friends. Although the two shared moments when they did not synchronize, they always found their way back to each other. This costume consists of a blonde half-up half-down hairstyle, colored button-ups with a cardigan, and mini skirts both tight and flowy. This Halloween custom works great for two best friends known for locking horns at times.

“Growing up, I would watch the Proud Family all the time with my family. Penny Proud and Dijonay Jones duo are very iconic. I used to love how the two interacted because of their snorty comebacks. This costume is very creative and I haven’t really seen anyone do it yet,” Warren said.

Money Heist bandits

Netflix’s thriller series “Money Heist” delves into a grand plan that consists of a massive and complex heist. A professor recruits eight people to print billions of euros and help him in the heist of Spanish banks. Robbers dressed in red jumpsuits, black boots and a Salvador Dali mask. This outfit serves as a compatible costume for any pair–male or female.

Ken and Barbie

After the newest release of the Barbie movie featuring movie star Margot Robbie, the Ken and Barbie duo has appeared more prevalent than ever. The two have complimented each other well since the 1960s. Halloween goers can customize this costume to match any era, such as their retro era or their beach era.

Wilma and Pebbles Flintstone

In the classic cartoon series, “The Flintstones”, Wilma and Pebbles hold a loving mother-daughter relationship. Wilma always looks out for Pebbles and supports her. Pebbles, on the other hand, brings joy to her mother through the tender moments she shares with her. This costume works well for mothers and daughters, as well as two best friends. For Wilma’s costume, one could expect to wear a white dress and a caveman-style bone to complete the look. For Pebbles’s costume, one could wear a speckled green shirt with black shorts.

When people plan and coordinate their outfits, they think outside the box and allow their creative thoughts to flow. These film-inspired costumes bring a sense of nostalgia to others, leading them to immediately love the outfit. The enjoyment and enthusiasm someone brings to his/her outfit will make all the difference.
