As summer and graduation nears for NC students, the desire to find diverse experiences before leaving high school arises. NC provides myriad clubs and extracurriculars for interested individuals, although certain clubs do not receive the attendance they deserve. From poetry to science to government relations, NC offers several opportunities for students to fill their days with education and inspiration.

Magnet senior Olivia Doucette serves as a role model in her community through her acting, singing and volunteering. The young actress stands as a key figure in NC’s Standing Ovation and proves that she will attain the undoubtedly bright future ahead of her. Doucette plans to attend the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia next fall and looks forward to the upcoming chapters of her life.

NC administrators stress the importance of well-roundedness in students, providing various clubs and after-school activities for their enrichment. However, one student stands out: senior Astro Johnson. An individual with unique enriching passions that they pursue in and outside of school, as the captain of the NC girls' Varsity Lacrosse team and an impressive 3.75 GPA, Johnson manages to do it all—providing the perfect example for underclassmen whose passions exceed the walls of NC and wow the entire student body with their friendly demeanor and amazing style.

As the Class of 2025 prepares for a future outside of NC, several young athletes — such as Donte Wagner-Kline — look excitedly towards taking their skills onto a new playing field. November 13, Wagner-Kline signed to play lacrosse with Emmanuel University, an opportunity that will sharpen his passion for the sport. With the support of his family and teammates, he hopes to end his final season playing for NC’s varsity boys lacrosse team (7-0) with a bang.

After a 9-1 win against the Midtown High School Knights (4-3) the NC varsity boys lacrosse team (7-0) faced the Marietta High School Blue Devils Wednesday, March 5 at 7:30 p.m. Amid the fluctuating rain and heavy winds, the Warriors won 14-13 after long periods of impressive passes and blocks. Cherishing their undefeated streak, the Warriors hope to continue the season with victorious matches and undeniable team spirit.

Citlalli Vela, a magnet senior, joined The Chant’s Media Team to pursue her artistry. As a little kid, she used drawing to portray her emotions and the current fandoms she obsessed over. Today, she designs logos for organizations around NC such as NC Rally, magnet, and the website Github. After school, Vela spins with the NC Color Guard and is President of the Greenhouse Gang. She enjoys horror movies, scrapbooking, music, shopping, and mindlessly scrolling the Internet. Taylor Morrow, Media Team
Taylor Morrow is a sophomore at NC. She joined The Chant because she is trying to branch out of her comfort zone and meet new people. She believes joining this class will have a lasting impact on her and her future. Morrow’s writing experience is pretty short, but she usually writes fantasies and fictional stories. These stories usually have characters who have non-human-like powers and abilities. Typically, she writes about a day in the life of these characters. Morrow has four siblings, and the second oldest is a junior at NC. Along with watching some of her favorite TV shows, thrifting is another activity she enjoys.
