As summer and graduation nears for NC students, the desire to find diverse experiences before leaving high school arises. NC provides myriad clubs and extracurriculars for interested individuals, although certain clubs do not receive the attendance they deserve. From poetry to science to government relations, NC offers several opportunities for students to fill their days with education and inspiration.
Underrated NC clubs
Magnet senior Olivia Doucette serves as a role model in her community through her acting, singing and volunteering. The young actress stands as a key figure in NC’s Standing Ovation and proves that she will attain the undoubtedly bright future ahead of her. Doucette plans to attend the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia next fall and looks forward to the upcoming chapters of her life.

Though the college admissions essay, also called the CommonApp essay, seems daunting to numerous students due to its broadness, students can reflect on their lives to find an interesting writing theme. The project can cast a scary appearance, but the essay merely stands as a way to allow the college admissions boards a deeper look into the applicant's life. When a student includes charm, emotion and deliberation in his or her essay, the applicant will produce a superb piece for their prospective colleges.

Georgia noted the highest pollen count in 35 years Saturday, March 29, placing emphasis on allergy-preventative activities for individuals. The yellow coat of pollen covering cars, porches, windows and all items imaginable causes irritation in several Georgians’ lives. As temperatures continue to rise and the peak of spring arrives, the pollen count fluctuates and hopefully will lower across the country in the coming weeks.

Due to the recent imposition of no cell phone policies around NC, the administration has motioned to allow Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the classroom. From ChatGPT to Adobe Express, various platforms now exist at the disposal of students. As parents, teachers and peers brace for change, the NC community seeks to undergo a series of seminars to better comprehend the new technological future at everyone’s fingertips.

Recently, the Major League Baseball (MLB) organization introduced a new program that provides high school baseball players in every state a chance to face off with their local professional teams. Tuesday, March 25, this program provided the NC varsity baseball team (3-5) the opportunity to face Georgia’s Atlanta Braves. In an unexpected match, the Warriors defeated the Braves with dedication and undeniable teamwork.

From the Great Wall of America to the Colofreedom, Americans prepare for a widespread renaming event to change history. The masses remain anticipating the widespread renaming, with multitudes even suggesting further landmarks that should earn new American names.

The shocking helicopter crash that took famous actor Justin Baldoni’s life created a disturbance among fans. A substantial number of them suspect that his ex-costar and current opponent could be involved in a lawsuit. While this could prove true, others speculate that she did not interfere with the unfortunate accident.

Citlalli Vela, a magnet senior, joined The Chant’s Media Team to pursue her artistry. As a little kid, she used drawing to portray her emotions and the current fandoms she obsessed over. Today, she designs logos for organizations around NC such as NC Rally, magnet, and the website Github. After school, Vela spins with the NC Color Guard and is President of the Greenhouse Gang. She enjoys horror movies, scrapbooking, music, shopping, and mindlessly scrolling the Internet.
