One can already see the advances of the Lakepoint Sporting Center project with the volleyball courts and the Terminus Wake Park open to the public.

LakePoint Sporting Community located in Emerson, GA lies in the midst of an exciting project: to create a one-stop venue for athletes and their families.

The facility serves those seeking athletic college scholarships and fans who enjoy unique sporting experiences. Not only will the complex house more than 40 different sports, LakePoint also remains situated in a progressing “Boom Town.”

The Lakepoint Sporting Community created a “boom” in truck drivers as materials for construction are hauled in and also as a truck stop, located right next to a busy gas station.

Construction on the complex began in 2011 and completed in 2014. Since then, the location experiences substantial growth and plans are underway to expand further.  Some activities already in action at LakePoint include soccer, volleyball and baseball. The facility also contains Terminus Wake Park, a state-of-the-art place for water fanatics. The Terminus Wake Park stands as the largest wake park in the nation.

While some sports and amenities already exist at LakePoint, the staff fosters new ideas. For those who would like to experience a more calming or family-oriented experience, the complex plans to add a bowling and arcade center with laser tag, shopping outlets, and a movie theater named Carmike Cinemas, planning to include 13 wide length screens.

Additionally, LakePoint’s Entertainment Village plans to include 25 hotels, with the first opening in 2015. The town will also include many restaurants, ranging from fast-food to full fledge dining. Alongside the hotels and the restaurants, the town will also showcase America’s top sport apparel and equipment brands.

LakePoint also gives back to the community through a program called the Miracle League, giving special needs kids a chance to play baseball. The location has a field named after the program in which the kids can play in a safe environment, including an accessible flat field for wheelchairs and cushioned rubber surface.

In addition, the project creates many jobs in the area, with an estimated  of 26,000 new jobs introduced. The site also features a volunteer application center where one can give their name and email address.
