The history of iOS dates back to June 29, 2007. When Apple released the first iPhone, the company started accommodating consumers’ needs, implementing a software called “iOS” (OS standing for operating system) to all Apple products. Now, the company altered the software, despite occasional changes frequently sparking conversation and controversy. As expected, the update immediately attracted attention from Apple users.

As an iPhone fanatic myself, the changes and updates Apple offered on iOS 9 please. A popular feature proves the improvement to the Notes app. In iOS 9 you can physically highlight, write, draw, or even measure anything easily. From busy students to stay-at-home moms, a wide-range of users will enjoy the Notes improvements.

The new and much improved News app now stands easily accessible on the home screen. The app features timely updates placed in order of occurrence for a quick reference to current news. News even allows Apple consumers to personalize their app to receive information from their favorite websites, such as Entertainment Tonight, Food Network, and BuzzFeed.

After a week of using the new software update, I remain pleased with the overall changes. Despite this, many users found “bugs” in the iOS 9 software, causing Apple to release another software update, iOS 9.0.1, on September 23rd, 2015. According to Apple, an example of one of the several bug fixes “an issue where sometimes alarms and timers could fail to play.”

iOS 9.0.1 remains easier to function after minor bug fixes, but has once again made everyday tasks easier to accomplish. I have not always been fully satisfied by Apple’s software updates in the past, but I stand genuinely content with the improvements Apple made on iOS 9.0.1.
