Friday night, March 4, the NC varsity boys soccer played against the Pebblebrook Falcons. Both teams went into the game undefeated, with neither wanting to end the streak. Although the Warriors fought hard, they  lost to the Falcons by a score of 1-2, making their record 5-1-1.

On losing the game, senior goalkeeper Devon Delameter said, “It was a real wake up call. It was disappointing, but we can get past the loss by working harder in training.”

After winning the Viking Cup, the boys expected ride the momentum into Friday’s match, but could not finish the task.

“In our loss against Pebblebrook we were missing key players on the defensive end and we didn’t convert the chances we had,” senior Avery Cobb said. “Although we worked together as a team we just couldn’t finish the job.”

The Warriors learned their lesson not to enter their games too confident  and will try to use this loss as motivation when they take on Kennesaw Mountain on Thursday night.
