As if the American people—primarily the Democratic party— did not already feel convinced enough about the election interference charges against former president Donald J. Trump, the Supreme Court of the United States received a petition from the former president Monday, December 11, asking for immunity. With the 2024 election on the rise and caucuses and primaries only weeks away, there lies a possibility that the defendant may feel that the prosecution holds sufficient evidence to convince the court of his guilt. Nonetheless, the question that SCOTUS must answer reigns on the principles of the rule of law, and with this notion, nobody remains above the law.

Election offices received letters after the November 7 elections and to their surprise, they found skeptical contaminants. While counting votes, states such as Georgia and Washington noticed fentanyl-laced mail. Several states have taken steps to further evaluate the issue.

One year after Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School became another victim of a mass shooting, March for Our Lives continues to fight against gun violence, taking major steps to make a necessary change.  This day should not only count as an opportunity to spread love but to remember the lives lost during this tragic event: Alyssa Alhadeff, Scott Beigel, Martin Duque, Nicholas Dworet, Aaron Feis, Jamie Guttenberg, Chris Hixon, Luke Hoyer, Cara Loughran, Gina Montalto, Joaquin Oliver, Alaina Petty, Meadow Pollack, Helena Ramsey, Alex Schachter, Carmen Schentrup, and Peter Wang.

Today marks Election Day for North Cobb’s student body. This morning, freshman, sophomore, and junior homerooms voted among an esteemed group of candidates all vying for class officer. Over the past week, social media has been buzzing with election pitches and the halls around NC have been adorned with vibrant posters with campaign slogans and photos of the eligible nominees. The school will announce the winners tomorrow during Tomahawk Today. The Chant wishes each candidate the best of luck!
