H&R Block Budget Challenge begins

For all economics classes, the H&R Block Budget Challenge begins today and includes over 21,000 students across the country. The challenge allows students to keep track of their own budget and practice paying their own bills. The simulation includes bills such as cable, rent, insurance, and different loans. If the student forgets to pay a bill, they will pay a late fee that mimics what a normal bank would charge. The challenge also includes emergencies that will test the students’ ability to pay for a sudden incident, like a flooded apartment or broken cell phone. At the end of the simulation, H&R Block will give away a scholarship to the top placing students within the challenge.
