On September 20, Apple released the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max, a phone that offers exceptional performance for customers who crave high caliber smartphones. The camera, also known as the Super Retina XDR stands as the largest display ever on the iconic smartphone. Apple carefully designed a chip, known as the A-13, that enhances the iPhone 11’s performance, known as the A-13 system, with its central and graphics processing unit, image signal processor, neural engine and multiple other advancements that exceed the average consumer’s expectations. While providing unparalleled performance for almost every task, it also enables an unprecedented leap in battery life to easily get iPhone users through the day.

“iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max are the most powerful and advanced smartphones we have ever made. They are packed with sophisticated technology that pros can count on to get their work done, and for anyone who wants the very best device made, even if they are not a pro,” Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Phil Schiller said.

The iPhone 11 Pro presents a three-part camera system with three unique abilities: Wide, Ultra Wide and Telephoto. The Wide lens lets the user increase their proximity to the subject while maintaining a quality focus. It also includes the ability to exaggerate the size of the foreground and create a photo that feels three-dimensional. The most noticeable upgrade, the Ultra Wide lens, gives the camera a 120-degree field of view; this allows the user to approach the subject without needing to crop out the surroundings, essentially capturing a more complete view of the focus of the picture. The Telephoto lens comes with a 2x zoom combined with an optical image stabilizer. The lens also contains a new feature known as “Night Mode,” which applies quality results when taking pictures during the night.

These yearly iPhone releases always spark up in conversations among the youth, including NC students, who already started raving about the new release.

“I wanted to upgrade from my iPhone 6 to the iPhone 11 because of the short battery life and poor camera quality which I heard was going to be the biggest upgrades on the new iPhone. There are no downsides to the phone that I have seen so far. The cameras serve as one of the biggest upsides with its unique abilities,” NC magnet junior Toby Fletcher said.

Apple once again satisfies customer expectations with revolutionary upgrades. Their yearly innovations maintain Apple’s reputation as one of the largest and most successful technology companies in the world.
