      • After receiving the incredible opportunity to bake her aunt’s wedding cake, Minard grew her business and added wedding cakes to her list of resume. “My biggest order so far was my Aunt’s wedding cake. It was three tiers and two different flavors. I baked the cake layers a day before the wedding, then assembled and iced the whole cake the morning of the wedding,” said Minard.

      • The Georgia House Rabbit Society currently shelters rabbits in a building on  Cherokee St NW, walking distance from Downtown Kennesaw. “So, the location we are in now, we purchased it in December of 2019. This whole year we’ve just been doing renovations and we moved in about a month and a half ago. Our previous shelter was 1,800 square feet and this new location is 6,500 square feet. So, it’s a substantial amount of space,”  GHRS Shelter Manager, Jennifer McGee said.

      • An organization called Mostly Mutts came together 20 years ago to help abandoned dogs find homes.  The organization sought help through fundraising to continue to provide aid for homeless dogs. In an effort to achieve this goal, the organization opened a thrift store called Mostly Mutts Market in which all of the proceeds help the dogs with rehabilitation. Support them as they educate the public on the welfare of these animals by visiting their store. “I love this thrift store. They are always getting in fun and interesting items. It

      • Over the past 28 years, Mr. and Mrs. Taylor have perfected their elaborate Christmas light display. Their fine-tuned annual production takes over 2,000 hours of labor accumulated over the course of four months. The Taylor’s hard work produces exponential amounts of Joy throughout Kennesaw’s community as Lights of Joy sits at the top of many Georgians’ holiday bucket lists.

      • NC staff and students diligently work to incorporate COVID-19 protocols into the beloved SWAW tradition. Donations, student volunteers, social distancing, and holiday masks will allow 2020’s SWAW to continue to bring holiday cheer to underprivileged children across Kennesaw and Acworth.

      • The lively atmosphere of Anchor Bar juxtaposed with live entertainment can be enjoyed outside or inside with versatile seating. The restaurant also hopes to expand on the restaurant and allow guests to play cornhole and other activities while dining.
