North Cobb has integrated a new app called The Tribe that aims to keep students involved with school events through a fresh new app that tracks through GPS coordinates locations of major sports and school events and awards points for attendance.

“We created the app to bring our school together and advance our ways of connection throughout the school,” Principal Dr. Page said.

The Tribe app can serve every student or staff member by direct download onto their smartphones. Users who download the app have the opportunity to “check in” into each event going on at or around NC. Each time a student or staff checks into an event, they receive points, which unlocks awards and prizes. The prizes range from school spirit garb to a drawing for an Apple iPad.

“I love the app; it’s a great way to bring fans to events that aren’t as popular as football and everyone loves awards,” senior Josi Elder said.

NC is one of just three high schools in the nation with an app like this. The idea stemmed from colleges who tested a similar market and made its way into the hallways of NC. The school specifically requested that this app could remain accessible from anywhere in the school.

“It’s crazy how much times have changed and how this app is bringing the school together. I love the app and I am so excited to see where everything goes with it,” junior Matt Clifford said.

Students, teachers, and others in the community can download the app at the Apple or Android app stores.
