After five months of anxiously awaiting the University of Georgia’s (UGA) acceptance decision, magnet senior Annisha Brown could finally lift a weight off of her shoulder once the distinguished university admitted her. Her outstanding academic achievement and impressive resume grabbed the attention of UGA’s selective admission staff. Not only did this stand as a colossal accomplishment for Brown, but also garnered admiration from her friends and family who held the privilege of standing alongside her through her journey.

Magnet sophomore Tristan Mick started Career Explorers Club (CEC) to help students narrow their future pathways. Members partake in group discussions to ease the anxiety about their lives after high school. Meeting on the first Wednesday of each month, CEC continues to grow and help students identify their passions.

NC Beta Club seeks new members and recruits rising sophomores for the upcoming 2022-2023 school year. The club selects students with a GPA of 3.75 or higher, which motivates students to maintain their high GPA throughout their highschool career. Students who received the invitation should report to the media center after school today, March 16 at 3:30 or before school tomorrow, March 17 at 7:45. “We are currently inviting people during their freshman year only because there are so many students, but if you know you meet the requirements and you are not a freshman, come join,” faculty sponsor Carolyn Galloway said.

As rising freshmen flood the halls of NC, Beta Club set up a meeting time for their first meeting: Tuesday, September 13th. The club’s poster seeks to invite new students who may not understand its purpose. “I don’t really know what Beta Club is, but I heard it has something to do with science and it looks cool,” junior Donovan Herring said.
