Callie Kinsinger, a junior at NC, joined The Chant because of her love for writing and hopes to excel through journalism as a way to gain knowledge for her future plans of working in public relations. She enjoys school because she likes to work and learn from other people. She spends most of her time at dance but makes time to read and listen to music. Not only does she listen to music, but she makes her own through playing the piano and occasionally the guitar. She always looks forward to traveling to new places and meeting new people. Kinsinger currently explores different high-level classes to find her interests so she can attend a fitting college.

Personalities differ depending on location, surroundings and how one wishes to present themself. The people one commonly resides with can also enable an individual to act or speak a certain way. This builds up each person uniquely, as they hold a combination of several other personalities. Quirks, catchphrases and faces made can all change depending on the norms in society or how friends and family affect them.

Sustainable clothing apps such as Depop and Poshmark change the future of wastefulness when it comes to clothing. These apps model a thrifting-style set up in an online form. Users can buy and sell clothing, limiting the production of fast fashion and increasing the repurposing of older clothing. This allows people who no longer enjoy their closet to share it with others who may further appreciate it.

Sleep revitalizes the body so it can perform day-to-day tasks at an efficient level. When one does sleep enough, the body falls into a mode of sleep deprivation. This can become unhealthy for anyone suffering from the effects of sleep deprivation. “When I was sleep deprived, it felt like I was half asleep all throughout the day but when I got home it was hard to sleep. I wouldn’t do it again because it was really draining physically and mentally,” sophomore Shay Potts said.

Marching band provides satisfactory exercise and serves as a healthy activity for high school students. Marching with no instruments can focus on strict exercise and production, rather than the sounds of the music. “I feel like I would be more healthy and strong if I’m totally focusing on my physical exercise rather than focusing on how good my playing sounds. I think the rest of the band would appreciate the harsh exercise to help us be more fit,” freshman Victor Aguilar said.
