As the track and field team hosted their first home meet of the season, the graduating athletes said their bittersweet goodbyes to their friends and coaches. In the last five years, students have drifted away from pursuing a teaching degree and half of the educators in the field leave after reaching the classroom. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, student behavior, learning and motivation issues have come to light. To increase the hype for NC’s 2023 homecoming, students rallied together to dress up for Spirit Week and attend the after-school events hosted throughout the week. In downtown Acworth, Pearl’s Spa creates a relaxing environment for its clients. Owner Susan McElvey took over the spa in 2021 and recently renovated the business for clients’ pleasure. The renovation kept the historic personality of the building while adding the appearance of a cozy and comfortable spa. The therapists and aestheticians who work at the spa strive to create a calm and relaxing environment, allowing anyone who walks through their doors to feel welcomed.

Asynchronous days became a repeated event in the calendar shortly after Covid-19 ended, over the last two years Cobb County added at least three asynchronous days to the yearly calendar for students. On asynchronous days, students work from home to catch up on missing assignments or work on new assignments their teachers assigned for the day. As asynchronous days become more frequent in the yearly calendar, with the next day set as Monday, October 16, students wonder if all half days will cease to exist.

The 8 Passengers, a beloved family YouTube channel that posts wholesome family vlogs and content, recently became relevant in a negative light. Due to the mother of six, Ruby Franke, abusing her two youngest children over the past few years, she currently faces charges for the accusations. The media has bashed Franke and her business partner Jodi Hilderbrant for the abuse accusations. Franke’s son escaped from the unhealthy household and ran to the closest house, along with calling the authorities to try and save himself from Franke’s abuse. Her five other children endured the abuse for years behind closed doors, altering the familys media reputation.

For JR Warrior night the NC community started off their first home game playing Westlake. Throughout the first quarter, tension remained high and the crowds energy was unmatchable. The Warriors put all their effort into playing to the best of their abilities. Although NC lost, the community still enjoyed their first home game and look forward to supporting the football team throughout the 23-24 season.
