After decades of volleyball seasons, NC has failed to see a team quite like this years varsity volleyball team (42-9). This year, the Lady Warriors won a state title and built a family inside of their sport. As the student body attended every game and matched the dress theme to cheer on their Lady Warriors, the team received support from all of NCs students.

Throughout the years, social media has evolved into a negative addiction rather than an app where people can express themselves. Social media lets teens compete for the best pictures or who gained the majority of followers. Social media can act as an escape for people while simultaneously causing a serious mental toll. An addiction to social media may result in consequential effects such as depression, anxiety and comparing one to online influencers.

To increase the hype for NC’s 2023 homecoming, students rallied together to dress up for Spirit Week and attend the after-school events hosted throughout the week. Students helped decorate the school to fit the theme “Night in Vegas.” The schools transformed atmosphere, combined with the presence of students and their dates, provided plenty of Instagram-worthy photo opportunities amid the ambiance of fantastic homecoming music.

In downtown Acworth, Pearl’s Spa creates a relaxing environment for its clients. Owner Susan McElvey took over the spa in 2021 and recently renovated the business for clients’ pleasure. The renovation kept the historic personality of the building while adding the appearance of a cozy and comfortable spa. The therapists and aestheticians who work at the spa strive to create a calm and relaxing environment, allowing anyone who walks through their doors to feel welcomed.

Asynchronous days became a repeated event in the calendar shortly after Covid-19 ended, over the last two years Cobb County added at least three asynchronous days to the yearly calendar for students. On asynchronous days, students work from home to catch up on missing assignments or work on new assignments their teachers assigned for the day. As asynchronous days become more frequent in the yearly calendar, with the next day set as Monday, October 16, students wonder if all half days will cease to exist.

The 8 Passengers, a beloved family YouTube channel that posts wholesome family vlogs and content, recently became relevant in a negative light. Due to the mother of six, Ruby Franke, abusing her two youngest children over the past few years, she currently faces charges for the accusations. The media has bashed Franke and her business partner Jodi Hilderbrant for the abuse accusations. Franke’s son escaped from the unhealthy household and ran to the closest house, along with calling the authorities to try and save himself from Franke’s abuse. Her five other children endured the abuse for years behind closed doors, altering the familys media reputation.

After Taylor Swift’s astonishing rise to fame, countless people do not support her celebrity status for various reasons. As diehard fans of Swift continue to fill her stadiums, a persistent disagreement with her song lyrics and the re-releasing of her albums continues. Swift seems to reproduce the same music with minor changes and the lyrics continue to sound repetitive and unoriginal.

Plenty of teens seek a loving partner, and that partner may not live close by. If a teen in high school experiences a long-distance relationship, it may impact his or her life in a negative way. Relationships may have repercussions, and communicating in a healthy way helps work through the distance. If the relationship appears strong and both partners seem truly committed, the distance may feel easier.

For JR Warrior night the NC community started off their first home game playing Westlake. Throughout the first quarter, tension remained high and the crowds energy was unmatchable. The Warriors put all their effort into playing to the best of their abilities. Although NC lost, the community still enjoyed their first home game and look forward to supporting the football team throughout the 23-24 season.
