The NC track team competed three days ago at the Kennesaw Mountain meet. Events took a turn when the boys 4x100 Relay Team A used roller skates to cheat during their race. The record-breaking splits they produced did not happen in faithful spirits. “The boys will face punishment for their actions. I am so disappointed in their behavior and willingness to cheat. They embarrassed not only themselves but NC as a whole,” head coach Chad Talley said.

NC counselors work hard to help students finalize their decisions for their course request of the 2022-23 school year. Students met with a counselor last week for some assistance in the choices they made, however, this week, students can change any courses they decided they no longer want to take. “Im very happy the counselors are letting us change our classes. Over the weekend I thought about changing some of my classes but I decided to keep the ones I originally put because I think those will benefit me most,” sophomore Lacy Partin said.

Fire alarms welcomed NC students back from the week-long winter break. For several students, the alarm caused panic, leaving them unaware of what to do. “When I heard the fire alarm I thought it was just a normal drill that the teachers did not tell us about. Everyone evacuated like normal. I got a little worried when the teachers looked confused and when people started posting pictures of fire trucks on Snapchat and Instagram,” sophomore Roselyn Morris said.

Face masks did not first appear during the COVID-19 pandemic. The usage of masks occurs for over three centuries. With the help of time, society learns what works and what does not work through trial and error and from scientists who came before them. The world must give thanks to the first doctors for creating what everyday citizens would use in times of illness.

The word “abortion” sets off alarms in the minds of several people around the world. Safe and legal abortions should not require this amount of chaos.
