NC Standing Ovation brought the plot of the famous Disney movie, “High School Musical” to life this weekend in their beloved Performing Arts Center. Their performance of the well-known storyline thrilled audience members with flashy dance numbers and unique costumes. “Hearing the audiences reactions, applauding and cheering really did boost my confidence because I felt like I was giving them a great performance and it helped to push me to give it my all during each show. Even if I may have been tired, I wanted to give the audience a show worth watching,” senior Erica Igwedibie said.

The NC varsity baseball team began the season determined, and they hope to continue to excel. Players huddled at the end of the game to celebrate their successful start. “We lost a few seniors last year but a lot of us are back and ready to win. The scrimmage was a great start to the season, to get our energy up. We are all talking about getting a playoff game at home during the second season of regions, itd be awesome and we’re all excited,” senior outfielder Parker Pegram (#5) said.

Despite posting a 1-4 record so far this season, junior Quintin Ferrara lost a close battle but showed his resolve throughout the match. Ferrara and the boys’ team welcomed a couple of new faces to the group earlier this season as well as coach Andrea Drake. Coach Drake prepares the team fully for upcoming region play and tournament.

Sophomore athlete David Eziomume (18) takes a handoff as senior offensive lineman Joshua Bagley (60) and junior offensive lineman Marselle Felton (63) block. Eziomume received the start at quarterback for this week’s game against North Paulding. Eziomume took the offense the length of the field on the opening drive, but did not score as the Wolfpack stopped the Warriors at the two-yard line. The Warriors ended up winning 12-7 with great efforts by Eziomume and freshman quarterback Nick Grimstead.
