On Saturday March 3, the Student Center Ballroom at Georgia Tech held the 2018 ten-hour long Dance Marathon for the For The Kids foundation, which focuses on raising money for the Children’s Miracle Network, local Children’s hospitals, and The Miracle Families of children treated at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

All funds directly benefit the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for the enhancement of future pediatric care. This care includes programs such as therapy dogs, teachers, and family libraries.

“The event left such a strong impression on me knowing I got to help out these kids who were not lucky enough to have healthy childhood that I got to have. I will definitely remember this day for the rest of my life,” junior Kelsey Dotson said.

Over 1,000 Georgia Tech students stood for 10 straight hours in honor of the patients at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. This year’s Dance marathon theme, Mission to Miracles, correlates with the foundation’s mission: to raise over $300,000 by the end of the day for Children’s Healthcare Atlanta for the countless patients and families treated there each year. By the end of the event, For The Kids raised $318,251.18.
